Recreation Sub-Committees

If your organization would like to get involved, you would like to join a committee or volunteer at a festival, please contact Heather English in the Recreation Department at 705-292-7035.

Cared for by the Lakefield Trail Stewardship Committee, the Trail meanders through 5.5 km. of the Village of Lakefield, offering a safe place for all to stroll, jog, cycle, or rollerblade. Interpretive signage along the Trail tells the history of Lakefield. Shade shelters and benches offer quiet spots to rest and reflect on the treasures offered by Lakefield and the Trent Severn Waterway. The southern entrance to the Trail connects to the Rotary Trail to Peterborough. For a Trail map go to the Lakefield Trail link at www.smithennismorelakefield.on.ca. Friends of the Trail Program

The Friends of the Trail Program is a major source of funding for the ongoing maintenance and enhancements of the Lakefield Trail. You can become a "Friend" for as little as $20 annually. Your donation will entitle you to a charitable donation receipt and a copy of our annual Newsletter. Donation forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce in Lakefield or by calling Heather English, 705-292-7034. Enhancements include a shade shelter on Water Street, trees planted and paving sections of the Trail. Become a Friend of the Lakefield Trail
