Library Services
The Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield Public Library system includes three fully integrated library branches, one in each ward of the Township.
A strong volunteer base of 170 people provide approximately 20,000 hours per year of volunteer time.
This strong community commitment, coupled with internet access to the system's full collection, free 'in-branch' computer access,

Book Sales:
Withdrawn and donated books, videos and CDs are made available twice a year - May & September. Proceeds are used to add new titles to the collection.
Storytime:
Kids from 3 to 5 who like awesome stories, songs, crafts and lots of fun, will want to join us for Preschool Story time.
Reading Buddies:
Volunteers work with elementary school students who have been referred by their school and need help with reading skills. Adult & high school volunteers are currently needed to make this program happen.
Adult Book Club:
Bridgenorth: Meets second Monday of the month at 10:00am in the Bridgenorth Branch.
Ennismore: Meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at 10:00am in Ennismore Branch.

Computer Training:
Availability varies by branch. Classes are free of charge. One-on-one sessions also available.

The Library Board is a governing body mandated by the Public Library Act. The Board works closely with staff to provide library services, manage budgets and develop strategic goals. The Board is comprised of one Council representative and the remainder being representatives from the community at large. The Committee shall consist of a minimum of five members to a maximum of nine members.
Members generally meet once per month (exception July/August).

Library Cards & Fees:
Library Cards are free to all and may be used at any branch.
With a library card you can: borrow books, videos, DVDs, magazines, audio and large print books and music CDs. If you are interested in an item that is not available in our collection we may be able to obtain it through Interlibrary Loan.
With a library card you can: access our online resources plus your library account. Check the due dates of any items you have on loan. Renew items that you have on loan (some restrictions apply). Place a reserve or hold on an item. View your loan history.
We provide computers with free Internet, e-mail and word processing, as well as free wireless access for laptops.
Faxing, photocopying and printing available for a small fee.
Volunteer At Your Library:
Share your time and talents by helping at one of our branches. Dedicated volunteers take on a variety of rewarding tasks including working at the circulation desk, shelving and shelf reading, cataloguing new items, delivering computer and literacy programs, contacting patrons and staffing book sales and special events. A volunteer application form is available on our website or call the library. Youth (high school age) volunteers are welcome.

- Browse the library's collection from any computer with Internet access. Start at the Library's home page: www.MyPublicLibrary.ca and follow the links to the library catalogue.
- With a current library card you can access your on-line account to do the following:
- Check the due dates of any items you have on loan
- Renew items that you have on loan (You cannot renew an item on-line that is already overdue, that has had a reserve placed on it or that has reached the maximum number of renewals for that item.)
- Place a reserve or hold on an item
- Cancel a hold or reserve that you have placed
- View your loan history
