Council 

The Council for the Township of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield is comprised of the Reeve, Deputy Reeve, and three Councillors who represent the wards of Smith, Ennismore, and Lakefield. The Reeve and Deputy Reeve also serve on the upper tier County of Peterborough Council.  

Council meetings are open to the public.  Anyone wishing to make a presentation to Council may do so by providing the Clerk with a request in writing not less than 6 days prior to the Council meeting.   The written notice must contain a clear statement of what issue or matters are to be dealt with at Council and signed by the author.

Interested ratepayers of the Township of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield are invited to submit their application for the following appointments at the beginning of each term of Council.

Appointments typically run for the same four year term as Council. The next term will being after the November 2010 Elections.
