Hospital
The Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art regional hospital with a proud local history extending back over a century. PRHC services a population of 300,000 people in four counties. The hospital is the region's largest employer with more than 2,000 staff, approximately 350 physicians with privileges, and boasts more than 600 volunteers. The Morton Community Healthcare Centre The Morton Community Healthcare Centre is a state-of-the art community medical centre staffed by five physicians, nurse practitioners and allied healthcare professionals acting as a family health team. Opened in September, 2009, the Centre offers a Telephone Health Advisory Service that is available after hours for all who are patients at the clinic. There is always a doctor on call from 5 to 8 pm and on weekends. On the edge of the village of Lakefield in Douro-Dummer Township, the Centre is conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 28 and Strickland St., and features an adequate parking area. |
