Hospital
The Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art regional hospital with a proud local history extending back over a century. PRHC services a population of 300,000 people in four counties. The hospital is the region's largest employer with more than 2,000 staff, approximately 350 physicians with privileges, and boasts more than 600 volunteers. Lakefield Primary Healthcare Centre Located on the northwest corner of Strickland Road and Hwy 28 (formerly 134). Currently under construction, this centre will accommodate a family healthcare team of five doctors and their staff, nurse practitioners and allied health staff, and commercial tenants such as a part-time dietitian and social worker, physiotherapy, a laboratory for specimen collection, and diagnostic imaging. The centre will offer primary health care to several thousand area residents who now have no family doctors. Its catchment will include Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield, and Douro-Dummer.
