Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough - Organizational Leadership and Innovation Grants
Investments that strengthen organizational infrastructure and leadership. Eligible applicants are registered Canadian charities operating with offices and programs within the City and/or County of Peterborough. Funding of up to $3000 is available for projects that meet the granting priorities.

Lakefield 5K Run & Walk
May 5, at 8:45 AM - Come 'Run the River' while enjoying Lakefield's picturesque trails. Lakefield Horticultural Society
The Lakefield and District Horticultural Society is a non-profit organization whose role is to encourage civic beautification & education. To this end we are responsible for financing & maintaining 5 different gardens, 27 hanging baskets & 9 cement planters in the Village of Lakefield. Lakefield Jazz, Art & Craft Festival
July 7 - 10 am to 11 pm - Isabel Morris Park - The 14th Annual Lakefield Jazz, Art & Craft Festival invites you, your friends, and family to come to a breezy day of outdoor summer living beside Lakefield's scenic Otonabee River to enjoy a wide variety of live jazz, colourful works for sale by artisans and crafters, plus interesting catered food and ice cold beverages.
The Festival website shows the final line-up of musicians. In 2012, arts and crafts exhibits will again open at 10 am. Ennismore Homestead Theatre
Will present another summer season of original work! Located at 951 Tara Rd, just north of the four corners, this not-for-profit summer theatre provides first-class entertainment featuring some of the area's most talented performers. Lakefield Fair

The 157th Lakefield Fair begins Friday July 27 with a Seniors, Kids, & Grandparents day. The Midway, Mini Farm, and Homecraft displays continue each day.
Friday: The Fair opens at 11 am. The day includes children's activities, a 4-H Dairy Calf Show, Kids Tractor Pull, Hunter Horse Show and at 6 pm the Truck and Tractor Pull.
Saturday: The gates open at 9 am. Special events include the 4-H Beef Calf Show, heavy, light, & open horse shows, light & heavy horse pulls, poultry show. The opening ceremonies are at noon. In the evening ATV Mud Bog and Truck Bog races
Sunday: The gates open at 8 am. Events include the sheep show, children's lead sheep, goat show, vintage classic country car Show, sheep shearing and at 5:30 pm a Demolition Derby.
Admission: General admission is $6.00 per adult, $2.00 children 6 to 12, and under 6 free. The Tractor Pull is $9.00 per person. The Demolition Derby, ATV Mud Bog, and the Truck Bog are $9.00 per adult, $2.00 for children 6 to 12 and children under 6 free.

August 8 and 9 - Lakefield - The Lakefield Horticultural Society host the 34th Annual Antique Sale, Flower Show and Plant Sale at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre. The Antique Sale features a wide variety of Antique Dealers with everything from memorabilia, collectibles, furniture, linens, jewelry, silverware, and tea cups. The Flower Show includes over 60 varieties of judged floral and photographic exhibits. The plants for the Plant Sale are provided by members and local Garden Centres. The event will be held Wednesday from 11 am to 8 pm and Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is $4.00 per person & children under 12 are free.
